THE BOUNDARY WATERS

A cinematic journey into one of the world’s most protected natural treasures

THE LAST UNTOUCHED WILDERNESS

PROJECT OVERVIEW

The Boundary Waters Project is a documentary and photography series that captures the essence of one of the last truly wild places on Earth.

Through cinematic visuals, natural sound, and powerful imagery, the project invites viewers to experience the peace, beauty, and importance of preserving this untouched wilderness.

“We must protect the forests for our children, grandchildren and children yet to be born. We must protect the forests for those who can’t speak for themselves such as the birds, animals, fish and trees.”

- Chief Qwatsinas (Edward Moody), Hereditary Chief of the Nuxalk Nation

PROJECT STORY AND CREDITS

PlanetXplorer first began in 2018 when I traveled to Montana to film several fly fishing commercials with Maddie. Between shoots I captured a few moments that became the very first PlanetXplorer video. It was short and left people wanting more, but it marked the start of something bigger.

After a long pause during COVID, the journey continues. This new film returns to Maddie’s story with more time on the water, beautiful Montana landscapes, and her own voice sharing how fly fishing has shaped her life. From fishing with her dad in Minnesota to raising her daughter in Montana, this film explores her passion for the outdoors in a more complete way.
